It was a Friday the seventh day of August, the year 2009. I awoke to birds chirping and giggles of laughter from my family in the living room. I peaked in to see a beautiful breakfast and a big congratulation + a few tears of joy. It was Brandon and my wedding day. The day that felt like forever to arrive. The day I married my best friend. And the beginning of an amazing adventure I am so blessed to be a part of.
Yes, we got married in the middle of SUMMER in Florida. Yes, it was HOT! The summer sun was toasty on the skin with a slight warm and muggy breeze passing by every now and again. However, the heat was not a factor as we stood in front of two hundred of our dearest friends and family at gorgeous St. Cecelia Church (in the ac;) and said “I Do”. By far one of the best days of my life and best decision I have ever made!
Now 5 years later we can both honestly say we are more in love today than we were on our wedding day. Has it been easy, HECK NO, but well worth it. SO WORTH IT! We wanted to do something special, we decided that every 5 years we will renew our vows, stand face to face and say our promises all over again with even deeper meaning every time.
Obviously, being photographers, we value amazing photographs that capture the precious memories of our milestones in life. The photos from our vow renewal turned out fabulous thanks to an awesome collaboration! Brandon and I took detail shots + a few self-posed photos (glorified selfies) but our precious renewal was captured by both Jerry from Jerdan Photography + Reid from 12-1 Photography. So, you may wonder how we end up with the two husbands – both of which have a husband and wife photography team. Pretty simple, Jerry’s wife, Danielle (love her) has started what is called “Black Sheep Bride” with the mission to ignite the wedding industry to do more good with their goods. Inspire brides to seek planning alternatives that save money to save the world. Plus impact society with weddings/consumers that embrace good deeds. And guess what… it’s taking off so Danielle needed to fly and we want her to soar! This led to Jerry asking Reid (who is amazing) to join him on the shoot. God is Good! All The Time! God is Good!
