Atlanta Elopement: James + Emily 

Every little girl dreams of her wedding day and just how perfect it will be. And so rang true for Emily as well. Not only that she, was marrying James, a man who gets filled with joy anytime she is excited, smiles when he sees her smile and longs for nothing more then to hold her in his arms. They are a couple who’s paths crossed with the Lords guidance and blessing. No doubt about it.

Wedding planning was underway, the venue was booked, the photographers chosen (so blessed to be chosen;), her wedding dress was ordered and floral design + cake tasting was in the works. Wedding planning bliss was in full effect with friends + family cheerfully and ecstatically helping.

But then it happened…the phone rang and news came in. With a heavy heart and eyes glistening with soft tears James had to make the announcement; he was getting deployed early, before their wedding date. News that would bring anyone to tears and drastically change the wedding dream. Two days after receiving the news Emily + James decided they were going to change plans and elope.

But here is the thing, God’s timing is always perfect. And as we had the honor + blessing of capturing Emily + James’s wedding day this verse was laid on my heart:

“For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”
-Jeremiah 29:11

Intimate, Romantic, Deep, Pure, and Faith Filled

So last week it happened! Not exactly as previously dreamed, but even better. It was intimate, romantic, deep, pure, and faith filled.  It was everything a wedding is truly supposed to be. Contagious joy filled the entire space of PARISH: The Brasserie and Neighborhood Café in Atlanta. There was not a dry eye in the entire place.  Emily + James stood before God + 3 other family members/friends and vowed their love to each other in this Atlanta Elopement. It was gorgeous!! They will be doing a “big wedding day” next year when James comes home so all their amazing friends and family can celebrate with them in love.

May the Lord guide every second of your future and hold you in the palm of his hands. You will both be in our prayers this year as James courageously serves us and our country. Thank you so much for being a shining example of love for the world to see. Your love is so so good!

The groom seals this Atlanta Elopement with a beloved kiss in Inman Park. While on the Atlanta Beltline in Inman Park, a woman walking by gave our couple a four leaf clover to give them good luck on their beautiful day.
