Ann + Sam’s wedding was so incredibly beautiful as they became husband and wife at St Anna’s Catholic Church in Monroe Georgia. With a special dispensation given, their wedding took place just behind the church in the grotto where Sunrise Easter Sunday Mass takes place each year. It was so filled with the Holy Spirit and the wonders of God’s creation.
Wedding Day Tears
Both Ann and Sam got ready at the church in separate rooms so there was no peeking before the ceremony. Sam is a dapper and traditional gentleman who wished to see his bride as she came down the aisle for the first time. Just wait till you see the tears! LOVELOVELOVE
Also Ann chose to wear her mother’s wedding dress. Seriously there was not a dry eye in the room as she got into the dress (mine included). It was such a deeply moving moment. To watch Ann’s mom button up the buttons on the dress she wore on her wedding day many years ago was like watching a love story dance through time on the whispers of sweet poems. The only alteration Ann had done to the dress was having the sleeves removed.
Sam got ready with the help of his father who he also asked to be his best man. The family connections shared during their wedding day are so inspiring.
Dad’s first look and parent gifts!
The Decor of the Day
The grotto adorned with long flowing white drapery, crystal chandeliers, fall wedding altar bouquets and dark mahogany wooden crossback chairs. Each guest was given an elegantly scripted ceremony program and little “yay flag” (to celebrate after Fr. concluded mass) at their seats before Mass began. Ann also had with her, her grandmother’s bible and a small wrist bouquet made from her grandmother’s wedding dress.
The wedding day was full of fall notes from the bridesmaids wine colored bridesmaids dress to their gorgeous fall bouquets.
St. Anna Church Wedding
We snuck Ann + Sam away for breathtaking photos of them with the church steeple as the backdrop. Be still our hearts. God has a way of making everything exquisite, graceful and magnificent all at one glance.
Following the romantic photos of this St. Anna Church wedding, Ann + Sam cut their cake and opened a bottle of bubbly to share with family and friends as they sat down for a wedding picnic reception and toasts.
Dear Ann + Sam,
As Corinthians 13:4-7 teaches us…Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. May the two of you live in this beautiful truth all your lives long and may your marriage be a beautiful witness to what love is.
Love and Blessings,
The Horns
