We have been journeying with Ashley + Chris for 6 wonderful years now. We have documented all the moments from engagement to their wedding day, maternity sessions, new born sessions, family sessions and now Baby #2, Archer, who just turned ONE! WOW were does the time go.

We started the session off with some photos of Archer to warm him up to the camera. Turns out he does amazing in front of the lens. And because a cake smash was planned we also hopped into family photos while everyone was sticky + cake free. We also like to get the goal of one beautiful photo of everyone looking at the camera.

After Archer was all warmed up we went into some fun playful photos so the kids had some time to just be kids and giggle with their parents.

Then it was time for the cake, Ashley made the cake herself. I thought they had purchased it… so impressive.

Once Archer got interested in the cake Ashley and Chris took off his shirt so he could dig in. However, turns out, Archer is actually a pretty clean eater which was a surprise since he loves being in the grass and the dirt playing. But when it comes to his food he is a more refined gentlemen. So we encourage mom, dad and sis to jump in and help him out. Chloe is a pretty clean eater herself, she shared cake without getting a single crumb on her.

After Archer had his fill of cake mom cleaned him up and we finished off with a few more family photos lake front. Chloe opted out of these as she became way more interested in being behind the lens rather then in-front of it. It looks like they have a future photographer on their hands.
