Beauty…I long to tell stories that engage the imagination, inspire dreams and capture the beauty of this world God has so graciously gifted us. Every fiber of my being realizes that my souls desire for beauty is one that was written upon it by my creator. To sing His praises and bring all glory to Him.
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.“
~Psalm 139:14
As organic journalistic photographers Brandon and I are constantly perfecting our craft to capture this breath taking beauty and to share what God is showing us on this journey. We love taking what others discard as useless and making it inspirational. We adore finding the hidden and less traveled path that is overflowing with beauty and taking our clients there. Give us simple and we will show you how it shines.
Yesterday I needed some time to just be creative and to perfect my craft. My heart was inthralled with telling a story of simplicity, adventure and contemplation. So I asked Annie if she would help me to tell this story, if she would be the subject that brings to life what God had placed in my mind and on my heart. Everything took place in an old hand made cabin build to remember the indians that once lived in the North Georgia Mountains. It is now unused and most people view it as “scary”. I wanted to reveal the simple beauty that resides here + bring life back to its design.
I decided to use two mediums, photos and video. Today is the photos and tomorrow I will unveil my very first attempt of telling a story through video. This does not mean we are doing videography now, it just means I am stretching my wings.
5 reasons why I find it so important to take the time to perfect my craft:
*It’s impossible to regress. The more we shoot the better we become. It gives us the opportunity to refine how we express ourself creatively, or otherwise.
*The more time we dedicate to developing our craft, the more we will learn about what God has made us capable of.
*Perfecting gives us time to creatively work on fine-tuning our pre-visualization of a shoot so we can tell an incredible story.
*Creativity in motion stays in motion. If we want to keep going forward we need to stay in motion.
*The more we learn through perfecting our craft, the more we can share and teach to others.
I believe I am created to do extraordinary things during this life. I believe all of us are created to do extraordinary things!
