There is just something so special about fall in the North Georgia mountains. The crisp air, the changing leaves, the vineyards, and all the little things that make this time of year feel so cozy. And what better way to kick off a fall weekend in the mountains than with a surprise proposal?!

Hunter and Dasha drove up from Alabama to spend a weekend exploring North Georgia, visiting several wineries, enjoying the apple orchards, and hopefully making a stop at Burt’s Pumpkin Patch. But before all the fall adventures could begin, Hunter had one very special question he wanted to ask his girlfriend of five years.

About a month ago, Hunter reached out to us to start planning a surprise proposal at Kaya Vineyard. He had been dreaming up this special moment and was so excited to finally ask Dasha to spend forever with him. In fact, he was hoping to make it happen as soon as they arrived in Dahlonega for their weekend getaway!

You could just feel how excited Hunter was, and of course, there were some nerves mixed in there, too! There is something so sweet about watching someone prepare to ask the person they love most to spend the rest of their life with them. Even after five years together, there is still something so exciting about that next big step and all the adventures that are waiting just around the corner.

And then came the moment!

With the beautiful setting of Kaya Vineyard surrounding them, Hunter got down on one knee and asked Dasha to marry him. It was such a sweet moment, and the beginning of an even more exciting chapter for these two!

After the proposal, we spent some time photographing Hunter and Dasha together, and let me tell you, these two were SO much fun! Their session was playful, laidback, and full of the happiest energy. They are both incredibly sweet, easy to talk to, and just genuinely fun to be around. It never takes long to feel like you are spending time with friends rather than simply showing up for a photo session, and that is exactly how it felt with these two!

One of the things we loved hearing about Hunter and Dasha is how much they both love to travel. They are excited not only about their upcoming wedding but also about all the places they will get to explore and the memories they will make together along the way. And with their love for fall and getting away to the mountains, North Georgia was the perfect place to begin celebrating this next season of life!

These two are planning their wedding for October 2027, which means they have a little over a year to dream, plan, and get excited for the big day. We can only imagine how special it will be to celebrate their love all over again when October rolls around!
