There are some weddings that just bring your heart alive and completely reinvigorate your soul with the meaning and purpose of your gifts and talents. This Catholic wedding was one of those. It had everything – deep reverence for our Lord, incredible moments wrapped in prayer, breathtaking beauty and a culture of faith, hope + joy.
We are beyond honored that Hannah + George trusted us with their Holy Sacrament, it allowed us to tell their story by Capturing Moments of God’s Glory through an editorial lens uniting authentic moments and artistic intent.
The Outstanding Beauty of Modesty and Virtue
“How beautiful then is modesty and what a gem among virtues it is.” St. Bernard of Clairvaux
“Modesty in a woman is the sign that Jesus Christ dwells in her heart. It is a sweet perfume of edification which she is called upon to diffuse.” Fatima Crusader
Hannah chose a gorgeous long sleeve wedding gown for the ceremony. The sleeves are detailed with four button satin cuffs and hand embroidered lace. With a little twist, the sleeve detach for the reception. A cathedral train adorn the back with buttons the entire length and accompanied with a hand embroiled cathedral veil.
With the help of her beautiful mother Hannah slipped into her dress, shoes and stunning bridal details. The final touch was her Holy Family Neckless with the three hearts, Jesus’s Sacred Heart, the Immaculate Heart of Mary and The Most Chaste Heart of St. Joseph.
Bridesmaids’ First Look
Once ready Hannah opted for a first look with her wonderful bridesmaids who were praying in the room over while she was getting ready.
Father’s First Look
Then it was time for her Father’s first look.
“Guard yourself against pompous fashions in clothing, and against every sort of vain beauty product or making yourself up, whether you are a man or a woman”. St. Charles Borromeo
In the meantime George readied with the help of his father. His dapper details included his black tie, hematite Rosary, silver cufflinks with G + C for George Carter, Our Lady socks and Holy Family tie clip with the three Sacred Hearts.
No Peeking First Prayer + Adoration
Before their Wedding Mass, Hannah + George came together for a no peeking first prayer and gift exchange in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
“Of all devotions, that of adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the greatest after the sacraments, the one dearest to God and the one most helpful to us.”
St. Alphonsus Liguori
Holy Sacrament of Marriage
With family + friends gathered along with all the Saints and Angels these two blessed souls began their Wedding Mass. Pews were full at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville, TN and songs of praise filled the vaulted ceilings. Warm joy filled tears gently glistened on smiling cheeks and the head of the Church, Christ himself, shepherded this momentous occasion in the life of his beloved.
The Cathedral was breathtaking with high vaulted ceilings of gold + Marian blue which were filled with light from the vast stain glass windows over head. The Sanctuary was radiant as it captured in stone the sacrifice Jesus made for everyone of us. Artwork of our 2000 year old history filled the walls and the stunning depiction of the stations took their place between each magnificent pillar. All of this to Glorify our Lord. To give to him the very best of what we have. And to think, all of this still falls so very short of the beauty and splendor that awaits us all in heaven so long as we repent and turn from our ways and follow Him.
Upon the exchanging of rings both George and Hannah kissed the other’s hand after placing the ring on each other’s finger and taking their vows. Be still my heart!
“How many of you say: I should like to see His face, His garments, His shoes. You do see Him, you touch Him, you eat Him. He gives Himself to you, not only that you may see Him, but also to be your food and nourishment.” – Saint John Chrysostom
The joy of our Faith
Following the Mass we journeyed to the marvelous reception bedecked with White Roses, Juliet Garden Roses, Calla Lilys, Alstromeria and lush greens. Blessings wrapped in a Marian seal were on each setting along with a song card continuing the beautiful “Wedding at Cana” theme. Soft pinks and corals draped the tables and white elegant cheesecloth table rummers with gold pillar and glass vase candles set the mood.
The Reception
Hannah + George opened their reception with their first dance to a song written by Hannah herself and sang by George! Not a dry eye. Following was both parent dances, a fabulous dinner, cake cutting and the toasts.
Praise + Worship
Then came the surprise, Hannah’s parents, Dan and Lisa Shea, who have been amazing worship leaders for years took the stage along with Zach (Hannah’s bother) and additional music artists PJ Anderson, John Finch, Carly Brown and Wesley Mannino. They lead everyone in praise and worship to open the night of festivities.
Craig Duncan Music and Entertainment took the stage after to for a wonderful night filled with dancing.
Dear Hannah + George,
Be appeased, O Lord, by our humble prayers, and in Your kindness assist this institution of marriage which You have ordained for the propagation of the human race; so that this union made here, joined by Your authority, may be preserved by Your help. Through the same our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end.
Amen.
It was an honor and a joy to document your first day as husband and wife. May this Holy Sacrament of Marriage wrap you in the love of Christ and give you the grace needed to be a reflection of his Holy Trinity! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of what God has brought together. Your wedding day brought our souls much joy and fervor. Cheers to many years of Holy Love!
Much Love + Blessings,
The Horns
