Wedding Day Getting Ready
As spring unfolds into summer Shantel + Josh stood hand in hand and became husband and wife. These two souls enjoyed a Fabulous Wolf Mountain Vineyard Wedding here in our little mountain town of Dahlonega, GA. Their wedding day was classic and timeless with a modern twist. A color scheme of neutral colors (black, gold champagne, and greenery) highlighted the day perfectly without taking away from the beauty around them.
The day began with Shantel getting into her dress with the help of her lovely mother in the Vineyard Cottage. In the meantime, Josh and his men got ready at the wine bar. Once all dressed and looking GORGEOUS Shantel chose to do a first look with her ladies…LOVELOVELOVE!
Bride + Groom First Look
It was then time for Shantel + Josh’s first look! The way Josh looks at Shantel and the way he treats her like gold is the sweetest thing to document. These two make documenting a wedding day so easy. During their first look they also exchanged gifts.
Wedding Day Romantic Photos
While both of them were looking their best we headed into romantic photos. Also we just had to share below Josh’s hand written reflection on their proposal.
Josh’s Proposal
“I had been talking with all of my coworkers for probably about a year leading up to the proposal, I knew I wanted to marry Shantel for a long time. I also had to make sure I asked her parents for permission to marry their daughter! When I asked Shantel’s mom, she was extremely excited and said yes immediately! I then asked her dad, and he asked me to go speak down the driveway with him. He told me that I better take care of his daughter and if I hurt her, he would come after me. He also asked me to wait until after she graduated to which I told him I would. After that it was just the execution that I needed to get down!
I decided that New Year’s would be a great time, because Shantel would be a graduate by then, and contacted my sister, Brittany, to help me plan it. I decided to do it in Hilton Head, because that was the first vacation Shantel and I went on together. Brittany rented a home on Hilton Head and invited all of my family, so it just seemed like another annual sibling trip for a New Year’s celebration. Everything was going according to plan. We showed up at Hilton Head on New Year’s Eve pretty late in the night around 10:30 and when we got there, Shantel and I were already dressed up nice but my family was in their pajamas. I pretty much yelled at everybody to go get dressed nice because it was gonna happen soon, and we had to take pictures for New Year’s. Shantel still wasn’t on to me!
Once Shantel had gone into the bathroom I used it as an opportunity to clear out an area on the balcony that had a decent view (even though it was very dark outside haha, poor thinking on my part). When midnight rolled around I took Shantel outside for us to take pictures and I dropped down on one knee. I had prepared all this sweet stuff to say in my head but when I dropped down, I just blurted out, “Will you marry me, Shantel?”, and she luckily said yes! Now we’re newlyweds!!”
Bridal Party Photos
After the romantic photos and while everyone was looking amazing with hair and makeup on point (before the ceremony and happy tears) we documented bridal party photos.
Wedding Time!
Shantel had the idea to have the groom’s best friend from high school, Alexa, officiate the wedding to include her. Their flower girl was the best man’s beautiful daughter, Avery. They chose to keep the ceremony short and sweet along with including their personal vows to each other. The end of the ceremony was followed by a ceremony grand exit as guest threw rose petals and lavender. Talk about smelling wonderful!
A few more romantic photos just as we headed into the reception, because that view!
The Reception
Guest were greeted into Wolf Mountain with amazing wine and wonderful music. As they found their seats Shantel + Josh were introduced as husband & wife and made their way to the dance floor. The evening began with a choreographed dance, which they obviously nailed and had guest cheering. Shantel then had a dance with her father and because Josh’s mother past way several years ago his sister surprised him with a first dance with her. Talk about not a dry eye in the place, it was so sweet!
Dear Shantel + Josh,
We hope that all these memories bring you so much happiness for years to come as your family begins to grow and your love becomes even deeper and deeper each passing day.
