Life, Memories, Moments
This week has been a whirlwind of life changing memories + moments happening within a split second. Yesterday on January 9th, 2019 we celebrated what would have been our son Gabriel’s 9th birthday. Also yesterday, my beautiful grandmother who was 95 went home to the Lord. So today, with curiosity getting the better of me, I looked up 9 and scripture.
What I found was that biblical numerology of the number 9 is the finality or the judgement. It is generally when at the time of judging a person and his works. WOW so fitting. Also, number 9 is used to define the perfect movement of God. It was almost as if through the numbers all lining up yesterday we could just barely grasp at His perfect movement… his perfect plan. The biblical number 9 is also a number of patience. Which lets be honest I could always use more of that.
Gosh I never new 9 could mean so much.
Yesterday was also a day of reflecting for us. We looked back at Gabriel’s birth + my grandmother’s life and concluded that we need to seize every moment we can from here on out. We need to soak in each second we are with our families and friends. Yesterday we breathed in deeply made a promise to take it all in and at the same time give everything we have!
Today we are thankful for so so much…
- My grandmother’s 95 years of beautiful life
- Our son Gabriel and his 3 day short but so meaningful life
- For breath and beyond second chances to get this life right
- The wisdom and history our elders have and their amazing stories
- The gift that death can be – how it can be sad yet simultaneously joyful + beautiful
- The gift of photography and having the ability to document rich moments in our life and the life of others
I promise this list can go on and on but we wanted to share at least our top 6 from this week. And today we celebrate. We celebrate the amazing life of both Gabriel and my Grandmother and we pray for all those who have gone before us. For without their lives we would not be here today.
This photo was taken just over 3 years ago. When I look at it I can still hear grandma’s laugh. For me photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving and of experiencing moments past. Each photograph holds within it its own story. It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.
