Hello Friends!!!

Welcome to the 8 day series Faith + Work = Prosperity that will be kicking off on January 3rd. Brandon and I are so excited for this and would like to thank you so much for joining us. We have decided to be open + vulnerable during this series and share some of our challenges and how God has helped us along the adventure. We thought we would start with a little background.

This time last year I was very close to raising the white flag on our photography business. Why?!?!

To be honest I didn’t think I had it in me to keep going. We began our business January 2010 in FL and right from the get go I said, “God is the Head Honcho of our business I am just the CEO”. I ran the business and Brandon was my second shooter as he still had a full time job in ministry. The first 24 months my every waking moment was working working working and praise God it worked. We were booking 25-30 weddings per year, 25-30 engagement shoots and 40 lifestyle shoots. Word – of – mouth was our main source of advertisement and the business reached the place were it could fully support us financially. After the first two years I got better at time management and we were finally free to put more emphasis on family, friends and living life.

Fast forward 3 years, we felt the call to move to Georgia so Brandon could continue ministry. Even though I had so many questions, we still trusted in God and moved. It was life changing. I was greeted with having to start our business from scratch, which to be honest I was not looking forward to another 24 months of non stop work to get us going in Georgia. We had no family or friends around us and no support system. The only safety net was God.

So it all began again, every waking moment for the next year was spent working on our Business. Then last year at Christmas I sat with Brandon and said we have to give something up. That year alone I had to turn down 45 FL weddings and 20 Atlanta weddings because of Brandon’s ministry schedule. It was just not working.

That night I said to God, “Why would you have me go through all this for nothing. What was the purpose? I give up, I can’t do this alone any longer.”

That little prayer must have gotten God’s attention because He swooped in. Right after Christmas Brandon, along with a few other directors across the state, were told that they were being laid off, the ministry needed to go in another direction. And we get it, ministry doesn’t pull in a lot of money and sometimes this has to happen so they can make ends meet. So there we were with one thing on our plate, our business. I was reminded of my prayer, “I give up, I can’t do this alone any longer.”  It was the power of surrender, I had put it all in God’s hands. 

Brandon was now free to work on the business with me and with in a few months we had weddings lined up and by this past August we had already booked 21 weddings for 2017 and were still booking more. It was like the flood gates opened. Our faith + work was =ing prosperity.

We have no doubt that God is the reason we have booked so many weddings. He has put us in the right places, at the right time and with the right people. Of corse we work hard, but it is never just through our hard work alone. Remember Harland and Wolff who built the Titanic, and we all know the famous last words just before the ship set sail ” Not even God himself could sink this ship”. We can’t do anything with out Him. Mark 10:27 “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

Booking weddings is just the start to what God has in mind for us. We believe that God’s plans go beyond us booking weddings and capturing moments of His Glory within the lives of others. That is our passion God has given us, to document the lives of others through our lenses, we LOVE it and are so thankful for it. We also feel our mission is to help other entrepreneurs grow their business for God and have a place where they can find support + a community along this adventure.
