Sarah + Nathan met at church but were first on each other’s radar in Chicago on a mission trip their sophomore year of high school. He was a boy in a pink v-neck and jorts and she was laughing hysterically at his jokes. It was not until they both became senior leaders for the youth group and went to homecoming together that they realized how great of fit they are. From there they had their first date at the corn maze and the rest is history.
For the wedding day they knew they wanted their day to be timeless and intentional with a beautiful chapel, breathtaking mountain scape and all their family + friends present. Vezalay Mountain Venue was the perfect fit. With orange being Sarah’s favorite color fall in October set the perfect backdrop. Blooms and Brews did a phenomenal job bringing together white rununculas, hypericum berries, white roses, marigolds, ruscus, and dahlia to embrace the wedding vision.
GETTING READY
Sarah slipped into her gorgeous designer Charme Bridal wedding gown with the help of her mother at the Vezalay Cottage. In the mean time her bridesmaids waited just outside the room for their first look! Her father was also looking forward to his first look with his daughter.
Nathan got ready with the help of his father look very dapper!
First Touch
Sarah + Nathan chose to do a no peeking first touch before their wedding ceremony. It not only brought them both so much joy but also released any stress or anxiety.
The Proposal
In Sarah’s words. “The proposal happened at Brasstown Bald! We had planned to celebrate our 4 years together by going on our first camping trip. Nathan told me to wear a dress first because we were going to go eat lunch. We ended up on a surprise date at Monteluce where I for sure thought he would propose. Nathan, nervous as ever then drove us to Brasstown after lunch. I had never been and was so excited. It was a bit windy that day so I grabbed an oversized sweatshirt when he discovered all the water gallons we had brought for camping spilled all over the backseat. His memory foam pillow soaked up most of the water but it had soaked his vest….the vest with the ring in it. We road the tram up to the top of the mountain and explored the different views. When we got to the west side Nathan knelt down and proposed.”
THE WEDDING CEREMONY
Guest began to be seated and took in the mesmerizing view thought the large panoramic widows of the chapel. As the music began to play Nathan walked out with his groomsmen await his beautiful bride. As guest came to their feet Sarah walked in looking radiant taking Nathans breath away as he knew, this was the moment they become one.
Following the ceremony we documented both bridal party photos along with gorgeous photos of Sarah + Nathan.
THE RECEPTION
Dear Sarah + Nathan,
We hope this day for ever brings you wonderful memories and happiness, thank you so much for choosing us as your photography + film team. We also hope your love grows even deeper day by day as the years pass. We wanted to share this beautiful scripture with you, I John 4::7-12:
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.” (ESV)
Cheers to years of love unending.
Much Love + Blessings,
The Horns
