The weekend right before Christmas Brandon and I had the honor of shooting Kate + Adam’s wedding in San Antonio Texas at the gorgeous San Fernando Cathedral. To tell the truth we normally don’t book anything the weekend before Christmas because we are getting ready for the wonderful Christmas season with family and friends. However, about a year ago we got a call from Brandon’s best friend (and best man at our wedding) Adam. His voice was full of excitement, joy, nervousness and anticipation. He was calling us to ask for prayers, he was about to ask Kate to marry him. Our hearts lit up!!!! An amazing man and best friend of ours had found the love of his life and was ready to say Forever.
A little back round on Kate + Adam. They met in DC while Kate was working for Focus. After a church walk, both her and Adam attended, he caught her eye and she his. They began to talk, flirt a little and then decided to grab a burger together. As they each enjoyed their delicious burger and warm fries with engaging conversation a flicker of love began to grow. It was a small flicker that neither one noticed at first. They only realized at the time that an attraction was forming. They met up again at a cinco de mayo party and found them selves enjoying a glass of whisky together by a cozy warm fire. The rest of the party seemed to just melt away. It was at this moment that they realized it was the simple moments together that brought them closer and closer. So they decided to start dating. Dating with the intention that this could lead to a wonderful marriage.
To propose Adam got the entire family together, when to mass with everyone and Sunday to a very special church. Adam was all dressed up and it was the feast day of the Holy Family. After mass he got down on one knee and ask Kate to marry him. With a joyous exclamation Kate said YES. As you can gather from their love story faith has played a pivotal role in their relationship, so on the wedding day the most important part was the wedding mass. The mass was filled with glory, faith, joy, peace and wrapped in the Holy Spirit.
I may have gone a little overboard on this sneak peek but I just could not help myself. It was absolutely breathtaking!
